MUJI 

Retail design

MUJI at KLIA2  is an offline store retail project to benefits and providing convenience to the customers, at the same time expanding the brand. The store is located on the second floor of the building, which covers an area of 220 square meters. The design the retail is fully inspired by the brand philosophy, which value more on minimal and functionality. Therefore, the design emphasis the functionality of structure and the flexibility of space planning, with the application of  minimal finishing to create an atmosphere that cherish the audience.

As the layout shown, the space in the store will be much more wider compare to other retail. With this planing, the atmosphere of the shop comes in a comfortable and spacious feeling which create a totallt different environment for the custormers in the airport. In additional, a curtain window have been applied on the facade of the retail with a viod linking to the first floor maximize the spacious and un-overwhelming at- mosphere in the store.

 

The staircase is also another high ceiling area in the store, which works as an accessibility and a book shelving display at the same time. This might attract the attention of the customers to looks at the books in a more interactive method instead of just display it at a particular area. Be- sides that, a huge glass shelving that connect from the ground floor to the second floor beside the staircase working as a barrier that protect people from falling of at the same time also help create privacy for the second floor. It create more space for customers to venture and make the space more fun.

 

As you notice, there is different mood in the ground floor and the first floor. In the first floor, the finishing are more on grayish cold and clean mood which suitable for people to grab their items and go more efficient. On the first floor, finishing and mood draws apart from the ground floor, which features large areas of wood surface and white surface. With this type of finishing, it creates a cozy and welcoming mood which makes customers more willing to stay longer. This enviroment will be more suitable for areas as lounge and product testing area which require more staying time of the users.
